Meet ZuZu - April 2020 | COPE Service Dogs

While we are all pulling together during these trying times, we thought it might cheer everyone up with a weekly visit with one of COPE’s amazing future service/facility dogs. Just like humans, each of our dogs has a very unique personality and story. Enjoy!

Meet COPE Service Dogs’ ZuZu

ZuZu is in her second year of training with COPE Service Dogs and is expected to graduate this year.

COPE received this beautiful canine in October 2018 from Dogs With Wings located in Edmonton, Alberta. She is the daughter of one of COPE’s active service dogs Gordie.

ZuZu is named and sponsored by ZuZu Fashion Boutique’s owner Tracey Baker. Tracey is a long-time supporter and volunteer of COPE Service Dogs.

ZuZu excels at her tasks and loves to train! Retrieving and carrying items are at the top of her list. This smart girl has the cutest look on her face when in a WAIT or STAY command.

ZuZu is either super calm or super excited and takes very little time to go from one extreme to the other. Her enthusiasm for completing tasks will definitely take her places.

When not training, Zuzu’s favourite hobbies include rolling over for belly rubs and swimming in all seasons. ZuZu often accompanies her foster mom to work and is loved by everyone she meets.

She is also an Honorary member of the Rotaract Club of Barrie!

This Week’s Indoor Game to
Keep Your Dog Happy

Brain stimulation is just as important as physical exercise. This week try Hiding several treats in the bottom of a muffin tin and cover the tray with tennis balls. Your dog will have a blast figuring out where the treats are.
